An AI agent is a software system that perceives its environment, makes decisions, and executes actions to reach a goal, with little or no human intervention.
An AI agent combines a language model with tools, memory, and a decision loop. It plans a sequence of actions rather than answering a single question, and can call APIs, read files, or browse the web.
For a website, an AI agent changes how visitors interact with content. A buyer can ask their own agent to compare offers, book a meeting, or fill a form, without ever opening a browser themselves.
