Rich snippets are search results enhanced with extra visual elements, stars, price, image, thanks to structured data.
A standard result is limited to a title, a URL, and a description. A rich snippet adds concrete details that help a user decide before even clicking.
They don't directly improve ranking, but they raise click-through rate. On a crowded results page, an enhanced result visually stands out from the rest.
