Domain Name System
DNS translates a readable domain name (tenexstudio.com) into an IP address, the numeric address servers use to find each other.
When a visitor types an address into their browser, a DNS query looks up the matching IP before the page even starts loading. This step is invisible but essential.
A misconfigured DNS delays a site's display or makes it flatly unreachable. DNS is also where domain redirects are set and where ownership gets verified for an SSL certificate.
