Generative AI refers to systems that create original text, images, code, or audio, rather than simply classifying or predicting existing data.
Unlike classic AI that sorts or predicts, generative AI produces new content from a prompt. LLMs for text and diffusion models for images are its best known forms.
It has changed how people search for information. More users ask for a generated answer instead of a list of links. A website now needs to be readable by both humans and the models generating those answers.
